Our 1st family beach vacation!

Destin, Florida is #1!
May 23-27, 2009 Jackson is 17 months old
We spent our first official family vacation in Miramar Beach in Destin, Florida and we had an amazing time! The weather, for the most part, was beautiful. The beach was gorgeous. Our condo was great and super close to the beach. And most importantly, Jackson, Ben and I had an incredibly relaxing and fun time.

This is my favorite pic of the vacation. My boys are having a blast on a beautiful day. We had just spent the day at the beach and pool. When Jackson napped, Ben and I read books and ate lots and lots of delicious food!

Beach bound!

This was Jackson's first steps on a real beach! As you can see, he bounded down the boardwalk with no fear. That's what 8 hours in the car will do!

Ominous skies

It poured rain almost our entire drive down to Destin, but once we got there the rain thankfully stopped. Still, the skies were a bit ominous.

Jack was a little hesitant to put his bare feet on the sand... once we slipped his tootsies in some crocs, he was skipping away!

Our condo...

Our condo was very cozy, but super clean and insanely close to the beach. As you can see behind me, we could watch the ocean from our patio.

Jackson managed to find every remote within minutes of being in the condo.

Basket sweet basket. Just like home, Jack loves curling up in a laundry basket :)

I love this picture because Jack looks like a little old man. He managed to climb on just about every chair on the beach... and get them all covered in sand.

I think Ben had as much fun digging in the sand as Jackson did!

Jackson loved playing in the ocean... especially when Ben would carry him. The water was still a bit rough on this day, so we were all getting a bit knocked around.

Here you can see how badly I need to buy a maternity bathing suit! My 4+ month belly doesn't quite want to stay hidden under my suit.

I love how the simplist things can make a toddler so happy. We found this little fountain and Jackson jumped right in!

We finally found a playground with a swing!!! Thank you outlet mall across from our condo! Jackson was in heaven!

I couldn't resist the title of this section... since I found this Bob Marley t-shirt for Jackson at a consignment store. :)

Out to dinner...

I really wanted a nice pic of Jackson and myself... but it didn't work that well. We had a delicious dinner out at an incredible sushi restaurant though.
